TEACHERS

You've come to the right place!

Our special services for teachers include assignment alerts and Classroom Links , the Huntley Library's teacher connection newsletter. Choose the links below for more information about these services.

In Your Classroom

We are available to visit your classroom to talk to students about the library, to give book talks or lead group book discussions. We are happy to serve as guest readers for special events. We also offer special presentations such as research lessons, or overviews of available online library resources.

Thinking of a specific visit or lesson? How can we help you? Email Youth Services at youth@huntleylibrary.org

Assignment Alerts

Assignment Alerts

Huntley Area Public Library is making every effort to provide the research materials needed by District 158 students. You can help! Here’s how:

    1. By sharing with us a list of your planned research projects and schedule of genre or author studies, you give us input that influences our collection development. We can then offer the most current and appropriate materials for your students' assignments.
    2. By keeping us posted about what's coming up for students with Assignment Alerts, we can have materials on hand and be prepared with alternative resources when students from several classes arrive looking for materials.

Now available in a convenient online submission form (linked below), sending an Assignment Alert is easier than ever!

Ask us about creating book lists for your classroom assignments!

Please let us know if you have any questions or comments, or suggestions for how we can serve you better!

Please be sure to be detailed about requirements that affect the resources needed. The more information given, the better able we will be to assist the students in finding what they need.

Classroom Links

We value teachers! As you may know, we share the same goals of helping students learn and grow as readers. Classroom Links is designed by our Youth Services team and written with teachers in mind. Each Classroom Links contains important information for teachers about library services and programs available to you and your students.

We welcome your comments and suggestions about Classroom Links at youth@huntleylibrary.org, and as always, we look forward to working with you.
