Congratulations to our Spring Family Reading Bingo prize winners! Families read together and filled in their Bingo sheets, which were entered into a drawing. Our winners are the Brenizer family, Candice and Robin, who received a $20 Barnes and Noble gift card. Congrats to them and to all of the families who participated in the Family Reading fun!!!

The Bluestem Winner for 2012 is Adventures in Cartooning by James Sturm, Andrew Arnold and Alexis Frederick-Frost.
The Bluestem award is designed for students in grades 3-5 who are ready for longer titles than found on the Monarch list, but not quite ready for the sophistication of some of the Rebecca Caudill titles.

The ISLMA has announced the winning titles of the Readers’ Choice Awards for 2012.

The winner of the 2012 Monarch Award is: Shark Vs Train by Chris Barton

The Monarch Award is Illinois’ K-3 Readers’ Choice Award. It is presented annually to the author and/or illustrator of the book voted as their favorite by students in Kindergarten through Grade Three in participating Illinois schools and public libraries.
